PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Stichtite is a carbonate of Chromium and Magnesium. Its colour ranges from pink through lilac to a rich purple colour. It is formed as an alteration product of Chromite containing Serpentine. Stichtite is rare and sought after in the broader international market. Stichtite in combination with green serpentine are only known from Australia, and South Africa in any significant quantities. Alternative sector dubbed the name Atlantisite. This material is light weight, thus polished items give you a beneficial size to weight ratio! Its colour ranges from pink through lilac to a rich purple colour. It is formed as an alteration product of Chromite containing Serpentine. Toprock gets the rough direct from the mines in Barberton, South Africa.

The Watermelon Fluorite deposits in Uis, Namibia showcase a remarkable array of blue, green, and purple hues, occasionally adorned with intriguing quartz intrusive exposures. This extraordinary deposit, discovered by Toprock Namibia nearly two decades ago, has recently come to life with active mining operations. Explore the depths of this deposit to unveil plates measuring 30 to 60 centimetres in thickness, extending up to 15 meters below the surface. Within this geological wonder, specific sections yield gem-quality green specimens, although they may exhibit a somewhat narrower spectrum of colours. This kaleidoscopic gemstone, renowned for its unique colour combinations, is affectionately known as Watermelon Fluorite. We anticipate a growing interest in polishing this exceptionally stable material, making it ideal for lapidary work.
