General Description
Petrified Wood with amazing growth ring patterns. Madagascar polishing is top quality and the Petrified Wood material always has a lovely range of colours. Affordable fossil stock item for any retail space. The woods tend to be Triassic in age with most being Podocarpus sp. Generally - In geology, petrifaction or petrification is the process by which organic material becomes a fossil through the replacement of the original material and the filling of the original pore spaces with minerals. Petrified wood typifies this process, but all organisms, from bacteria to vertebrates, can become petrified.The ammonite coasters are made with real fossils and consolidated with resin. This is of course a polished product so is manufactured in the strictest sense. We absolutely love these plaques and they make amazing decor items for any home or office. The Ammonites used in the production process can range from calcite infilled specimens to those with crystalline segments. Black Ammonites do feature in some pieces, but they are substantially less common. A wonderful item for decor or other retail spaces besides a classic mineral and crystal shop. Price is grade dependant. Items are as shown.
