PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Shattuckite is a copper silicate hydroxide mineral. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic – bipyramidal crystal system and usually occurs in a granular massive form and also as fibrous acicular crystals. It is closely allied to Plancheite in structure and appearance. It is named after its discovery locality, the Shattuck Mine, Bisbee, Arizona, USA. We sporadically get batches of polished Shattuckite free forms. Rich colours which contrast beautifully with the infrequent inclusions of Azurite and Malachite. Supply of this material is very sporadic and all batches are graded and priced accordingly. The polish can be interpreted as imperfect but this is an on the ground reality of polished material from Congo. Price is grade dependent. Items are as shown.
