General Description
Surely roughly one hundred in each batch. Very nice classic mine run affordable single quartz crystals ideal for the kids, wire wraps, or décor application in plant plots. These are all ethically mined and cleaned. Generally Speaking - Madagascar is mined fairly extensively for a wide range of quartz both in the north and south of the country. The best deposits yield optic to near optic white to Smokey crystals which are mostly small crystals in complex and dense arrangements. The material is roughly 60 to 70 % intact and 30 to 40 % may be damaged. Irrespective of some damage the material is mostly all cleaned and been through a round of acid. On rare occasions some haematoid colouration remains evident on some specimens. We recently acquired a large consignment that amounts to several mines production for a long time, Covid has done some serious damage to the miners in Madagascar simply due to the break down of distributional channels and the total ban of foreign visitors for several years! We adopted a "total deposit" concept when we purchased from our friends. The only way to ensure sustainable mining to facilitate economic empowerment to a wide range of local families.
Normal selling price is R300 to R400 p/kg, however this mine run comes in at a very affordable R150 p/kg price tag.
