Polished lovely Unakite Elephant Carvings from Messina, South Africa

Unakite is a metamorphic rock primarily composed of green epidote, pink orthoclase feldspar, and quartz. Its unique coloration arises from the intermingling of these minerals, giving it a distinctive mottled appearance. Formed from the alteration of granite, unakite typically originates in geological environments where hydrothermal processes occur. This rock is often used in jewelry and decorative applications due to its aesthetic appeal, and its formation process and mineral composition make it a subject of interest in geological studies.
