La malacholla es una combinación de malaquita y crisocola, que es un material bastante sólido y, a menudo, ideal para pulir o trabajar en joyería. La combinación dinámica de colores azul y verde hace de este un material muy atractivo y bonito que no aparece muy a menudo. La mayor parte de este material se pule a mano en el Congo. Los objetos decorativos de gran tamaño son excepcionalmente raros simplemente debido a la escasez de grandes bloques en bruto aptos para pulir. El precio depende del grado.
