PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

New chocolate aragonite spheres from Madagascar! Fresh off the plane June 2024! Don’t miss out. Limited stock. Highly selected! Aragonite is a mineral primarily composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO3). It belongs to the carbonate mineral group and shares the same chemical composition as calcite, but with a different crystal structure. Aragonite crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, forming elongated prismatic crystals with distinct cleavage. It typically occurs in sedimentary environments, often as a product of biological processes such as the precipitation of calcium carbonate by marine organisms like corals and molluscs. Aragonite is known for its distinct colours, including white, colourless, yellow, green, blue, and brown, depending on impurities present during formation. It is also notable for its varied habits, occurring in stalactites, stalagmites, columnar aggregates, and other forms. Aragonite is less stable than calcite and can undergo transformation into calcite over geological time scales. Price is grade dependant. Items are as shown.
