General Description

Each 1 kg batch includes between 7 - 12 pieces. This is a lovely mix of agate in all its best forms including ones with dendritic inclusions, banded complex patterns, and then a % of the material has a pale carnelian natural orange colour. All very nice and largely inexpensive. Generally Speaking - Agate is any translucent microcrystalline form of silica. Agates tend to be translucent, while Jaspers are more opaque and do not allow light to pass through them. Agate and crystalline Agate are a fairly staple product from Madagascar. The agate is sourced country wide and mostly polished in Antananarivo. The material ranges from banded grey and white to dendritic black spotted and fortification features with crystals from clear, white or pale, to bright purple Amethyst. The majority of material tends to be cut and polished, with very little of the material being left unworked. This is very different from standard Brazilian dyed material as we only supply material with natural colour. Only the top 20% of material is selected. 

The photographs are representative of either the entire stock item offered, else a representative sample of the broader batch. Variation is to be expected across individually selected batches. However, all batches / items within this stock item are fully sorted and selected accordingly to associated grade.
