PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Aragonite x 2, a stunning mineral composed of calcium carbonate (CaCO3), belongs to the carbonate mineral group and features a unique orthorhombic crystal structure. Though chemically identical to calcite, Aragonite’s distinctive crystal formation sets it apart, showcasing elongated prismatic crystals with clear cleavage.

Found primarily in sedimentary environments and often forming through biological processes by marine organisms such as corals and mollusks, Aragonite comes in a diverse palette of colors, including white, colorless, yellow, green, blue, and brown. Its varied forms – from stalactites and stalagmites to columnar aggregates – add to its natural allure.

Ocean Jasper: Madagascar’s Unique Orbicular Gem Formed in Volcanic Ash Beds

Ocean Jasper x 1, sourced exclusively from Madagascar, is a Silicified Rhyolitic Agate Chalcedony mineral that forms within ancient volcanic ash beds along the Marovato coastline. This material is classified as Orbicular Jasper due to its distinctive concentric, orb-like patterns and layers of banded colors, which is a result of silica precipitation in volcanic matrix voids during cooling phases. The orb, flower like and banded patterns in Ocean Jasper are often surrounded by mineral inclusions like Iron, Manganese, and Calcium, contributing to a spectrum of hues ranging from greens and whites to yellows, pinks, and browns.
