PRODUCT INFORMATION
General Description
A very beautiful very good grade specimen which would be ideal for a collector. Large block with stunning deep bright green crystalline exposures! Generally Speaking - Embark on a journey into the realm of rarity with Dioptase, an exquisitely uncommon mineral species revered for its exceptional scarcity. Dioptase stands out globally for its resplendent emerald green crystals, which often manifest in a dazzling array of formations: from glistening drusy or sugary textures to the classic cubic shapes, and occasionally, the rare prismatic forms. DIOPTASE FROM THE CONGO In 2019, Brazzaville revealed a treasure trove of Museum-quality Dioptase specimens, marking a significant event in mineral discovery. These pristine crystals stunned enthusiasts with their gem-like quality, showcasing a brilliant emerald green hue. Some of these specimens were adorned with bright, gemmy yellow Mimetite crystals or featured captivating botryoidal hollow domes of Dioptase—an extraordinary find that emerged from a limited pocket, resulting in only a handful of such unique specimens. Following this revelation, Tantara emerged on the scene around 2020, unveiling its distinct character. Though less gemmy than the Brazzaville specimens, Tantara's Dioptase continues to captivate with its striking emerald green hue. The crystals exhibit a diverse range, spanning from microcrystalline drusy textures to larger, more defined cubic formations, forming intricate and densely clustered arrangements. What sets both Brazzaville and Tantara apart is the sheer size of the unearthed specimens. Owning even a small Dioptase specimen is considered fortunate, but Tantara has broken the mold, producing some of the largest crystalline Dioptase specimens witnessed in Africa over the last 35 years, surpassing even the remarkable findings of Tsumeb, Namibia. The past five years have heralded a renaissance in the discovery of collector and museum-grade Dioptase specimens across Africa, surpassing the finds of the previous two decades and potentially even in the entirety of Dioptase's mining history in Southern Africa. Price offerings reflect the grading of the specimens, promising an assortment that ranges from collector's gems to museum-grade treasures, each offering a glimpse into the extraordinary story of Dioptase's emergence in Africa.Price is grade dependant.
