PRODUCT INFORMATION

General Description

Cobbed larger pieces of rough rhodonite! Very funky to find this material is Zimbabwe! Quite different from malagasy material with less chromite, and more iron rich quartz inclusions, and other weird things going on! Been some rich reds coming from the deposits. Rhodonite, a member of the pyroxenoid group of minerals, is a captivating manganese inosilicate, with a chemical composition of SiO₃. Its crystalline structure follows the triclinic system. Typically, Rhodonite is found in cleavable to compact masses and is characterized by its stunning rose-red color. Presenting a new deposit of Rhodonite, recently unearthed in Zimbabwe and expertly polished in the same region. This material boasts a remarkably rare and enchanting rich pink to deep red hue. It often occurs alongside black Chromite and possesses an impressive weight-to-size ratio. The pink coloration can vary from a dusky pink to semi-gemmy, an exceptionally rare feature. Rhodonite is an exceptionally hard stone, and each piece is meticulously polished to bring out its natural beauty. Pricing varies according to the grade, and the items are showcased as displayed. Intriguingly, the name Rhodonite finds its origin in the Greek word "rhodos," which means "rose," a fitting reference to the stone's distinctive pink or rose-red color. The discovery of banded Rhodonite in Argentina during the 1930s catapulted it into popularity as an ornamental stone, sometimes referred to as "Inca Rose" in reference to the regional material. Price is grade dependant. Items are as shown.
