PIETERSITE
Pietersite, often referred to as "tempest stone," is a unique, dark blue-grey breccia made primarily of hawk's eye and tiger-eye. This variety of chalcedony, a form of quartz, features embedded amphibole mineral fibers that create a striking blue chatoyancy, reminiscent of tiger-eye. High-quality rough Pietersite is priced around R2000 per kg, with lower grades being more affordable. Renowned among collectors for its rarity and beauty, Pietersite is exclusively found in the Outjo region of Namibia.
