Sambia produziert ein ziemlich umfangreiches Spektrum an Amethysten, von besonders dunkelvioletten Clustern aus Mapatizya bis hin zu hellem Material, das oft eine phantastische Farbverteilung aus der Mumbwe-Region aufweist! Zusätzlich zu diesen beiden natürlichen Amethystvorkommen gibt es in der Region auch riesige Chevron-Vorkommen, die in ziemlich großem Umfang abgebaut werden!
