Chatoyant Peach Moonstone Spheres - All With Nice Flash
Peach Moonstone from Madagascar features various types of feldspar with spectacular chatoyancy. While feldspar is widespread, high-quality Moonstone is rare. This gem is a Potassium Aluminum Silicate Feldspar, also known as Orange Microcline Feldspar, with colors ranging from tan brown to very light peach or pink.
The material exhibits variable color intensity, with some pieces showing veins and others displaying a shimmering effect, especially in standing free forms. Microcline, the mineral behind Peach Moonstone, is a Potassium-rich alkali feldspar common in granite and pegmatites. It forms during the slow cooling of Orthoclase and is more stable at lower temperatures, contributing to the unique and beautiful properties of Peach Moonstone.
