BRANDBERG QUARTZ
Brandberg is a top locality for collectible quartz, especially in Africa. Its quartz is found in basalt vugs or as single crystals, primarily in amethyst and smoky hues, often with intriguing combinations. Quartz clusters here typically associate with calcite, epidote, prehnite, and stilbite, forming within volcanic basalt vugs. Miners extract these on a small scale. Brandberg quartz may feature lepidocrocite inclusions, appearing as specular or needle-like. Its exceptional quality and unique characteristics make it highly sought after by collectors.
